]> Asset Description Metadata Schema (ADMS) This file specifies the set of RDF classes and properties used in ADMS Version 0.10 12 March 2012 2012-03-12 &adms; adms Makx Dekkers Andrea Perego Digital Earth and Reference Data (DE) Unit, Institute for Environment and Sustainability (IES) of the EC DG Joint Research Centre (JRC) Phil Archer W3C/ERCIM ADMS Working Group This is the RDF encoding of the Asset Description Metadata Schema, developed under the European Union's ISA Programme, specifically under SEMIC Phase II, directed by Vassilios Peristeras of DG DIGIT. It re-uses terms from several other vocabularues, notably DCAT (The Data Catalog Vocabulary) and Dublin Core with elements of SKOS, FOAF and more. The ADMS Concept Scheme, available at &adms;.html, defines its own lexical terms for its classes, properties and relationships. ADMS is intended as a model that facilitates federation and co-operation. It is not the primary intention that repository owners redesign or convert their current systems and data to conform to ADMS, but rather that ADMS can act as a common layer among repositories that want to exchange data. &documentationTitle; &methodologyTitle; &forumTitle; Copyright © 2011 European Commission. ISA Open Metadata Licence v1.0 European Commission European Commission Repository An ADMS Repository is a system or service that provides facilities for storage and maintenance of descriptions of Semantic Assets and Distributions. A Repository will typically contain descriptions of several Semantic Assets and functionality that allows users to search and access these descriptions. The Distributions - the actual files themselves - will typically be available from the Repository or elsewhere on the World Wide Web. adms:Repository Semantic Asset A Semantic Asset represents the conceptual content of a resource which is a code list, a specification, ontology etc. A particular Semantic Asset may have zero or more Distributions in different formats. adms:Asset Distribution A Distribution is a particular representation or concretisation of a Semantic Asset in the form of a downloadable computer file that implements the intellectual content of an Asset. A particular Distribution is associated with one Asset. adms:Distribution Asset Type classification of a Semantic Asset according to a controlled vocabulary, e.g. code list, metadata schema adms:AssetType Documentation The foaf:Document class fully represents the ADMS concept of documentation. Used in ADMS specifically for the class of documents that further describe a Semantic Asset or give guidelines for its use. foaf:Documentation File Format The dcterms:FileFormat class fully represents the ADMS concept of a file format. Used in ADMS to provide the technical format that a Release is available in, e.g. PDF for a document, XML for a schema. dcterms:FileFormat Item An item that is contained in a Semantic Asset, e.g. if the Semantic Asset is a controlled vocabulary, this could be one of the vocabulary terms. adms:Item Interoperability Level The level according to the European Interoperability Framework (EIF 2.0) that an Asset is relevant for. adms:InteroperabilityLevel Status An indication of the maturity of an Asset or Release. adms:Status Subject The theme or subject of an Asset, e.g. "elections" or "immigration" according to a general or domain specific controlled vocabulary adms:Subject Contact Information The contact information regarding a Semantic Asset. adms:ContactInformation Representation Technique machine-readable language in which a Distribution is expressed adms:RepresentationTechnique Identifier Complex type (based on UN/CEFACT Identifier) consisting of: a content string which is the identifier, an optional identifier for the identifier scheme, an optional identifier for the version of the identifier scheme, an optional identifier for the agency that manages the identifier scheme. See Section 5.8 of http://www.unece.org/fileadmin/DAM/cefact/codesfortrade/CCTS/CCTS-DTCatalogueVersion3p1.pdf adms:Identifier content The identifier adms:content scheme An identifier for the scheme used to create the identifier adms:scheme scheme version The version number of the identifier for the scheme used to create the identifier adms:schemeVersion schemeAgency The name of the agency responsible for issuing the identifier adms:schemeAgency access URL The URL of the Repository or Distribution. The range of adms:accessURL is xsd:anyURI adms:accessURL Description The dcterms:description property fully covers the ADMS property of the same name. As in RADion, dcterms:description is used in ADMS to provide descriptive text for the Repository, Asset or Distribution. It should be noted that ADMS defines a minimum cardinality of 1 for the dcterms:description of a Repository. dcterms:description Title The dcterms:title property fully represents the ADMS property of Name. ADMS uses this to provide the name of the Repository, Asset or Distribution. It should be noted that ADMS defines a minimum cardinality of 1 for the dcterms:title of a Repository. dcterms:title supported schema A schema according to which the Repository can provide data, e.g. ADMS adms:supportedSchema contact point Links a Semantic Asset to relevant Contact Information. The range if adms:contactPoint is adms:ContactInformation adms:contactPoint language The dcterms:language property fully represents the RADion relationship of the same name Used in ADMS to provide the language of the Asset. Note that the range is dcterms:LinguisticSystem dcterms:language temporal The dcterms:temporal property fully represents the ADMS relationship of temporal coverage. Used in ADMS to link to the Period of Time class. Note that the range is dcterms:PeriodOfTime dcterms:temporal asset type Links a resource to its adms:AssetType. adms:assetType documentation The wdrs:describedby property fully represents the ADMS relationship of documentation. Used in ADMS to link to further documentation of the Asset wdrs:describedby includedItem Links a Semantic Asset to an item that is contained within it (e.g. a concept in a controlled vocabulary). The range of adms:includedItem is adms:Item. adms:includedItem interoperability ievel Links a resource to its adms:InteroperabilityLevel adms:InteroperabilityLevel subject The dcterms:subject property fully represents the ADMS relationship of the same name. ADMS uses this to link to a subject or theme that the Asset covers. ADMS expects the object to be of type adms:Subject dcterms:subject status Links to the status of the Asset or Release in the context of a particular workflow process. adms:status sample Links to a sample of the Semantic Asset (which is itself a Semantic Asset, i.e the range is adms:Asset). adms:sample translation Links a resource to a translation of itself. adms:translation address The complete address written as a string, with or without formatting. adms:address name The foaf:name property fully represents the ADMS property of the same name. Used in ADMS to provide the name of the person or organisation to contact about a particular Semantic Asset foaf:name mbox The foaf:mbox property fully represents the ADMS property of e-mail. Used in ADMS to provide the e-mail to write to about a particular Semantic Asset foaf:mbox phone The foaf:phone property fully represents the ADMS property of Telephone. Used in ADMS to provide the telephone number of the person to call about a particular Semantic Asset foaf:phone homepage The foaf:homepage property fully represents the ADMS property of Web page. Used in ADMS to provide the Web page of the person or organisation responsible for a particular Semantic Asset foaf:homepage notation The skos:notation property fully represents the ADMS property of Code Used in ADMS to provide values from a list of controlled terms. Note that an identifier SHOULD be provided as the relevant datatype. skos:notation
